Are you considering selling your home but think you should wait until spring? Here are a few reasons why you shouldn’t wait and get your property on the market this winter:
1. Motivated buyers. Usually, the buyers looking to purchase in the winter are very motivated. Those willing to face the freezing weather frequently have a real need to buy, whether they want to get settled before school starts again, they got a new job, or something else.
2. Less competition. Buyers are comparing properties within their price range and needs, and there will be fewer choices for them during the winter. Ultimately, this puts your home closer to the top of their list.

3. Holiday decorations. Chances are you decorate your home for the holidays, and you should still do so when selling. Don’t go overboard, but some lights and tasteful decor may entice buyers to imagine themselves celebrating the holidays in the house.
4. Special features. Winter allows you to highlight some of your property’s great features like fireplaces or flat walkways that will be easier to traverse when covered in ice. Some of these features aren’t as obvious in warmer months.
Tip: If you take photos with snow in them but your home sale starts creeping toward the warmer months, take fresh photos to stay up to date with the season.
